The Atlanta First United Methodist Church in Georgia announced that it will start its sacred cinema growth group on Wednesday, June 1.

In a Facebook post on Friday, May 27, the Atlanta First United Methodist Church said the sacred cinema grow group will meet on Zoom on Wednesday, June 1 to discuss Disney-2021 Pixar's feature "Luca" (PG). 

Participants may register to start now, according to the church’s post.

At the Atlanta First United Methodist Church, summer in the city means Faith and Films during service. 

The church said they are taking it a step further this year with a Sacred Cinema Small Group Series. 

They will host dialogues through clips about the spiritual implications of some of the most recent Oscar-nominated films on Wednesdays at 7 p.m., through Zoom, during the months of June and July.

Summer Reading Club

The summer reading club met for the first time on Monday, May 23 at Atlanta First United Methodist Church in Georgia.

The Atlanta Inaugural United Methodist Church announced the first meeting of its summer book club on Monday in a Facebook post on Friday, May 20.

According to the church, the public was encouraged to begin reading Sankofa this month.

Those who have not yet read it have time, according to the church. It's an interesting, fast-paced book about a woman's search for her actual self.

Weekly reading guidelines are accessible on the Atlanta First United Methodist Church Online Facebook Campus, according to the church.

Restoration of Library System

The Atlanta First United Methodist Church has invited the public to visit the Central Branch of the Fulton County Library System.

Since the $50 million restorations were completed at the end of last year, the Atlanta First United Methodist Church announced on Facebook on Thursday, May 12 that the public is invited to visit the Fulton County Library System's Central Branch.

According to the church's Facebook page, not only is the building beautiful and the library fascinating but there is also an Asian Pacific American History Month exhibit in the main lobby this month.

Church’s Small Group Poll

The entire community was invited to participate in a small group poll for movie recommendations at Atlanta First United Methodist Church.

The Atlanta First United Methodist Church posted a sacred cinema small group poll on Facebook on Thursday, April 28, encouraging people to vote.

The sacred cinema small group survey will take five minutes to complete and will tell the church's Grow team which films they want to see through the lens of religion this summer in the city, according to the church's website.

On Friday, April 22, the Atlanta First United Methodist Church announced on Facebook that a Grow book club via Zoom meeting would be held on the fourth Monday of each month.

Discussions about the spiritual aspects of certain well-known works will begin in May, according to the church's announcement.
