The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta in Georgia has announced a tribute event for living American composers on Sunday, Nov. 14.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the First Presbyterian Church said the Atlanta Chamber Players would return with a tribute event for the living American composers.

The church said the event would feature the world premiere of "Notes From Inside" by Benjamin Krause, the National Finals winner, from January 2021.

According to the post, the piece was inspired by the shared experiences during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

The church bared that the Atlanta Chamber Players will also perform "Peace" by Jessie Montgomery. He is a renowned violinist and composer, as well as an educator and activist.

The First Presbyterian also said the tribute would include "Dies Irie" by Kenji Bunch and "Southern Harmony" by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon.

The event will be held in person on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. or can be watched via live stream at Concerts@First.

First Presbyterian Church's Worship Service

According to the church's website, those interested in worshiping online should visit the First Presbyterian Church's live stream page, homepage, or every Sunday page.

The First Presbyterian Church's website shared that the new calendar of events will include everything the church offers, from weekly Sunday services to concerts and small groups.

Meanwhile, church members will update the event description with information on the virtual event's attendance.

According to the church, the Atlanta Design Museum, Union Theater, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, and other local art institutions are within walking distance.

The church offers concerts and activities regularly as a result of these connections.

According to the church's website, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta was founded in 1848.

The website shared that the chapel is located near the Woodruff Arts Center on Peachtree and 16th Streets.

According to its members, the First Presbyterian Church aspires to be a city leader in worship, spiritual education, service, community relations, and the arts.

According to the Presbyterian church, many families contributed to the city's progress, and key anniversaries were commemorated.

Food Drive

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta has also requested food donations for its fall food drive for the children's ministry.

The church shared on Facebook on Friday, Oct. 22, that it will be collecting food donations from Oct. 22 to Nov. 14.

According to the church, the food donations will be used to supply the First Presbyterian Church's food pantry in preparation for the busy fall and winter seasons.

The post said the First Presbyterian's Sunday school classes are invited to bring food donations each week.
