The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta has asked for food donations for the children's ministry fall food drive.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Oct. 22, the First Presbyterian Church announced collecting food donations from Oct. 22 until Nov. 14.

The church said the collection of food donations would stock the First Presbyterian Church's food pantry in preparation for the busy fall and winter seasons.

According to the post, the First Presbyterian's Sunday school classes are also encouraged to bring food donations each week.

The church has also called for the public to reach out for more questions and concerns to Lynne Wisard at lwisard@firstpresatl.org.

Church's Worship

According to the church's website, those interested in worshiping online should go to the live stream page, homepage, or every Sunday page of the First Presbyterian Church.

The new calendar of events, according to the church, will contain everything the church has to offer, from weekly Sunday services to concerts and small groups.

Meanwhile, church members will add information on the virtual event's attendance to the event description.

The Atlanta Design Museum, Union Theater, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, and other local art organizations, according to the church, are all within walking distance.

As a result of these links, the church hosts concerts and activities regularly.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta was founded in 1848, according to the church's website.

According to the website, the chapel stands near the Woodruff Arts Center found on the corner of Peachtree and 16th Streets.

Christmas Pageant

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta will also host its annual children's Christmas pageant on Sunday, Dec. 19.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta announced the start of registration for the pageant in a Facebook post on Thursday, Oct. 21. The registration deadline was Sunday, Oct. 24.

According to the church, the children's Christmas pageant is one of the First Presbyterian Church's most popular holiday traditions. The event's purpose was for the children to lead the congregation in worship during an Advent service.

According to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, children from Grade 5 were encouraged to participate as characters, choir members, prayer leaders, or storytellers.

The children's Christmas pageant will occur during the sanctuary's worship service on Sunday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m.

Piano Concert

Meanwhile, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta hosted will host a piano and organ concert. According to a Facebook post, the church's "Battle of the Keys" piano and organ concert will be held on Friday at 8 p.m.

According to the church, compositions on the program include Beethoven's Emperor Concerto rewritten for piano and organ and a world premiere piece Poème Rhapsodique by David Briggs, performed by Julie Coucheron and Jens Korndörfer.

The concert will also be live-streamed on Concerts@First, according to the church.
