St. Paul United Methodist Church holds women's group book reading

The St. Paul United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, held a women's group book reading on Monday, Nov. 1.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Oct. 30, the St. Paul United Methodist Church announced that it hosted a women's group reading last Monday at 7 p.m.

It was held at the home of Justine Holcomb, according to the church's post.

The St. Paul United Methodist Church said the women's group read and discussed chapter two in the book of the "Wild and Holy."

The church said all women were welcomed during the group discussion.

According to St. Paul's post, women’s group reading will be held every first Monday of every month at 7 p.m.

St. Paul United Methodist Church's History

The St. Paul United Methodist Church, according to its website, is located in Grant Park, one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods.

According to the website, they have  been providing a place of prayer, friendship, and community for almost 115 years at the crossroads of Grant and Sydney Streets.

As a United Methodist Church, the members indicated they are proud to have open hearts, minds, and doors.

Church's Basketball Season

St. Paul United Methodist Church has also invited participants to join in the church's basketball season.

They announced on Facebook on Friday, Oct. 29, that registration for the new basketball season would start next week.

According to the post, the church invited people to keep an eye out for future details.

Biblical Ceremony

St. Paul United Methodist Church also held a biblical ceremony for children and youth on Sunday, Oct. 24.

According to the church's website, the St. Paul United Methodist Church held a children's bible ceremony this year to give the bible to various children.

The event took place in person at the St. Paul United Methodist Church sanctuary on Sunday.

On the other hand, the church took more stringent health precautions, including wearing face masks, providing child care, and allowing singing.

According to St. Paul, sick patients can watch the service through live-stream on the church's official social media channels.

The church also begged for tolerance with the new regular setting amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Retreat Camp

According to St. Paul United Methodist Church's Facebook post, the church's youth group attended a  Rooted Retreat held at Camp Glisson.

Nine teenagers and four adults were among those who enjoyed the weekend retreat, according to the church.

Meanwhile, the church announced in a separate Facebook post on Sunday, Oct. 17, that the youth group had returned from the retreat and shared their experiences during Sunday service.

The retreat camp members' safety was prayed for by the church members, according to the post.
