First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta in Georgia announced a new tool called "On the Way Capital Project" to keep the public updated.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Aug. 28, the church expressed its excitement about providing a new tool that will keep everyone informed about the status of the project and any new developments.

The new website will be regularly updated with fresh content and useful links so everyone can remain up to speed on where they are and where they are heading, according to the church.

Church’s Mission

Among the many local outreach initiatives, the First Presbyterian Church said it has a 35-year tradition of serving breakfast to 250 homeless people every Sunday.

First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta stated on its website that it was providing up to 12 women with secure lodging and support through the campus' Women's Transformation Center.

The Woodruff Arts Center is right next to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, which was established in 1848, according to the church. 

The church said it is situated at the intersection of Peachtree and 16th Streets.

First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta said it is an urban church that is renowned for being a pioneer in worship, spiritual development, service, community relations, and the arts. 

It added that it has celebrated some significant milestones, and many of the families who have contributed to the development of the community have been and are members of First Presbyterian Church. 

With the 175th Anniversary approaching in 2023, the First Presbyterian Church said it continues to build upon these traditions.

According to the church, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on May 29, 2020, First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

The Southeast's oldest continuously operating preschool, which was created in this city 70 years ago, is located here, according to the church.

On WSB radio since 1922, the church said it has the world's oldest continuously broadcast religious program. 

In addition, First Presbyterian Church said it was the first church in Atlanta to broadcast services live on television, a practice that is still done today.

Church’s Arts

The First Presbyterian Church said it enjoys close ties to the neighborhood's cultural institutions, such as the High Museum of Art, the Museum of Design Atlanta, the Alliance Theater, the Atlanta Symphony, the Atlanta Opera, and others. 

Through the alliances, the church frequently presents performances and activities, according to the church.

Plans and ideas for the installation of stained glass windows were created by Pastor Dr. Lyons, the church said. The church said 10 windows that surround the sanctuary's floor depict the biblical narrative from Abraham to the apostles' work to promote Christianity following Christ's death and resurrection.

There are four locations with a total of twenty windows. There are seven Tiffany windows, four D'Ascenzo windows, and nine Willet windows, according to the church.
