The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta in Georgia has invited participants for Lunch Bags Love Line Sunday.

In a Facebook post on Monday, April 25, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta encouraged the volunteers for Lunch Bags Love Line Sunday mornings after the 9:10 a.m. service.

The church said that they meet in the kitchen to cook peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and assemble packaged lunches for the most fortunate members of the community.

It was a good time with a positive impact on the community, according to the church.

Make someone's day by being the reason they smile today. The congregation expressed their excitement to see them there, the church said.

Annual Mental Health Connections Week

The 2nd annual mental health connections week was held at Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta announced on Monday, April 18, that the 2nd annual mental health connections week was conducted from April 25 to April 29.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, the Samaritan Counseling Center, and The Will for Hope Foundation are supporting this event to raise awareness about the importance of mental health, according to the church's post.

The gathering began around 7 p.m. on April 25, according to the church. 

Ross Szabo, an award-winning speaker, and mental health advocate spoke at the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta about common mental problems.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performed at the First Presbyterian Church last Saturday at 8 p.m., according to a Facebook post on the church's page on Wednesday, April 6.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, led by Jens Korndörfer and conducted by Jerry Hou, performed Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony and Poulenc's Organ Concerto, according to the church.

This was a one-time event, according to the First Presbyterian Church.

Church’s Food Drive

The public was asked to donate to the food drive at Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church.

On Tuesday, April 5, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta requested canned goods for their food bank via Facebook.

The church's Community Ministries is holding a canned food drive from Sunday, March 20 to Sunday, April 24 in honor of March Madness.

People were encouraged to donate as many canned goods as they could to the food bank, according to the church.

The Smith Building's drop-off spot, according to the church's release, will be near the reception desk.

They can give to Rebekah's (Bin 1) and Jens' (Bin 1) bins in Bunny Ears (Bin 2).

Corn, sweet peas, baked beans, collards, mixed vegetables, fruits, canned spam, canned chicken, tuna, salmon, corn flakes, grits, oats, saltine crackers, ketchup, and salt and pepper shakers are among food items that must be included.
