The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is set to hold the 2nd annual mental health connections week.

In a Facebook post on Monday, April 18, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta announced that it will hold the 2nd annual mental health connections week from April 25 to April 29.

According to the church’s post, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, the Samaritan Counseling Center, and The Will for Hope Foundation are sponsoring this event to promote awareness about the significance of mental wellbeing.

The church said the event will be held at 7 p.m. on April 25.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta said Ross Szabo, an award-winning speaker, and mental health advocate, will give a discussion about typical mental difficulties.

Floral Arrangements for Sanctuary

Volunteers are needed to put together floral arrangements for the sanctuary at Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church.

On Friday, April 8, the church made the announcement via Facebook post.

The Flower Ministry, according to the church's announcement, is searching for volunteers to help put up beautiful floral arrangements for the sanctuary each week.

Flowers are separated into smaller bouquets and sent to our home-bound members who are recovering from surgery, grieving, or celebrating a milestone, according to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

Return of Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced that it will perform at Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church.

According to a Facebook post on the church's page on Wednesday, April 6, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returned to the First Presbyterian Church last Saturday at 8 p.m.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performed Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony and Poulenc's Organ Concerto with Jens Korndörfer and conductor Jerry Hou, the church said.

According to the First Presbyterian Church, this was a one-time-only event.

The event was hosted by Concerts at First, according to the church.

Food Drive

The public was invited to donate to Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church's food drive.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta sought canned foods for its food bank in a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 5.

In honor of March Madness, the church's Community Ministries is hosting a canned food drive from Sunday, March 20 to Sunday, April 24.

The church advised people to donate as many canned goods as they could to the food bank.

According to the church's announcement, the Smith Building's drop-off location will be near the reception desk.

In Bunny Ears, they can donate to Rebekah's (Bin 1) and Jens' (Bin 1) bins (Bin 2).

Corn, sweet peas, baked beans, collards, mixed vegetables, fruits, canned spam, canned chicken, tuna, and salmon, corn flakes, grits, oats, saltine crackers, ketchup, and salt and pepper shakers are also required food items.
