The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta in Georgia has called for volunteers to assemble floral arrangements for the sanctuary.

The church made the call in a Facebook post on Friday, April 8.

According to the church’s post, the Flower Ministry is looking for volunteers to put together stunning floral arrangements for the sanctuary each week.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta said flowers are divided down into smaller bouquets after worship service and distributed to our home-bound members who are recovering from surgery, grieving, or celebrating a milestone.

Interested participants may contact Pam Covington at pamcovington1929@gmail.com or call 404-355-5801 in arranging flowers for Sunday worship or smaller bouquets to be given to the community.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra has announced its return to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returned to the First Presbyterian Church last Saturday at 8 p.m., according to the church's Facebook post on Wednesday, April 6.

According to the post, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returned with Jens Korndörfer and conductor Jerry Hou performing Saint-Saens' Organ Symphony and Poulenc's Organ Concerto.

This was an in-person-only event, according to the First Presbyterian Church.

The church said Concerts at First hosted the event.

Donation Drive at First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta

The public was asked to donate to the food drive at Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 5, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta requested canned foods for the church's food bank.

The church's Community Ministries is holding a canned food collection from Sunday, March 20 to Sunday, April 24 in honor of March Madness.

The church urged that the food bank get as many canned goods as possible.

According to the church's post, the drop-off spot in the Smith Building will be near the reception desk.

They can donate to Rebekah's (Bin 1) and Jens' (Bin 1) bins in Bunny Ears (Bin 2).

According to the church, the victor will be determined by the quantity of money donated.

Food items necessary include at least 15 ounces of corn, sweet peas, baked beans, collards, mixed vegetables, fruits, canned spam, canned chicken, tuna, and salmon, corn flakes, grits, oats, saltine crackers, ketchup, and salt and pepper shakers.

Easter Egg Hunt

The public is welcome to attend Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church's annual Easter Egg Hunt.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta invited the public to the annual First Presbyterian Church Easter Egg Hunt at Winn Park in the Ansley area on Monday, April 4 for plenty of fun, laughter, and friendship, according to the church's Facebook post.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own baskets to the celebration, according to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

If it rains, the event will be moved to Fifield Hall. According to the church, coffee and breakfast dishes are served.
