The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta invited the public to join for a musical concert on Monday, March 7.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 21, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta encouraged the public to join for a musical excellence with the Georgian Chamber Players on Monday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m.

According to the church’s post, the Georgian Chamber Players will perform Brahms' "Piano Quintet," Haydn's "Gypsy Trio," and Smetana's "Moldau Symphonic Poem" for an afternoon of musical greatness.

‘Masterworks Concert’

The public is invited to the "Masterworks Concert" at Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Feb. 23.

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta announced a "Masterworks Concert" on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. via a Facebook post on Thursday, Feb. 17.

The "Masterworks Concert," according to the church's announcement, will feature lead flutist Christina Smith and the Georgia State University Symphony Orchestra.

Expect a delightful evening full of musical skill, according to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta's Concerts@First music series.

According to the website of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, Michael Palmer leads the University Symphony Orchestra in a performance of music spanning three centuries, including George Walker's String Lyric, Haydn's Symphony #104, and J.S. Bach's Cello Concerto. Violin Concerto by Bach

Suite No. 2 from Bach's Orchestral Suites, according to the church. The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Principal Flutist, Christina Smith, will perform with the USO in Bach's Orchestral Suite #2.

Providing Meals for Neighborhood

On Sunday, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta will have a service as well as serve meals to the community.

On Tuesday, Feb. 15, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta posted on Facebook that a "Tween Service Event: Lunch Bag Packing" will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 27.

According to the church's post, the children of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta will gather for a service and fellowship event, spending time together while preparing meals for underserved communities.

First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta's History

The Woodruff Arts Center is near to the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, which was founded in 1848 and is located at the crossroads of Peachtree and 16th Streets, according to the church's website.

In metropolitan regions, the church claimed to be a leader in worship, spiritual formation, service, community partnerships, and the arts.

Many of the families that contributed to the area's development were and are members of Atlanta's First Presbyterian Church, which has celebrated a number of significant milestones.

According to the church, as it approaches its 175th anniversary in 2023, the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta aspires to build on these traditions.
