Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church invites to join Advent wreath making

The Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has invited the public to join in an Advent wreath-making on Sunday, Nov. 28.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Nov. 11, the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church has encouraged the public to join in an advent wreath making for the coming Advent and Christmas season.

According to the post, the event will be held in the amphitheater on Sunday, Nov. 28, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. if there is no inclement weather.

The church said friends and families of all ages could participate and assemble the wreath in the event.

The post read that the suggested donation to the church is around $10 per kit.

The participants were encouraged to reserve their advent wreath making at https://bit.ly/glennwreaths.

According to Glenn Memorial, they were also invited to stay for the first Sunday of Advent worship in The Gathering at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall afterward.

However, the church noted that wearing face masks is required for children ages two and up.

Glenn Memorial United Methodist's Youth Fellowship

According to the church's website, the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church's United Methodist Youth Fellowship will meet in the Youth and Activities Building on Sunday nights from 6:00 p.m.

According to the church, the church's celebration for middle and high school students included a dinner, choir practices, and fun games.

The church said they would also have fellowship and learn more about loving God and neighbor as is customary for nocturnal gatherings.

According to the church, the worship service is an essential part of Glenn Youth's identity.

Its mission is to further God's kingdom by loving and assisting the neighbors locally and globally, focusing on local relationships.

Youth Development

According to the church's website, the Glenn Youth attempts to establish a safe place for adolescents in grades 6 through 12 to be themselves, ask questions, have fun, and learn.

The church also understood the importance of youth development and worked hard to create a supportive environment. It also underlined the need for forging connections of mutual trust.

Everyone is welcome and accepted by the Glenn Youth organization, which seeks to serve others in our community and around the world.

The church expressed concern for the health and safety of the community.

Toys, Gifts for Foster Care

The Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church will collect toys and gifts for the children in foster care.

The church announced on Facebook on Friday, Nov. 5, that it would begin collecting toys and gifts on Sunday, Nov. 28, in preparation for advent and to share with others.

As a guide for funders and participants, the church has also prepared a Christmas wish list.

According to the church, interested donors might also want to donate from the Christmas wish list or sponsor a child or family's wish list.
