Morningside Presbyterian Church to hold 'Screen on the Green' festivities

The Morningside Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, will hold Halloween festivities on Friday, Oct. 29.

In a Facebook post, the Morningside Presbyterian Church announced that it would host the "Screen on the Green" festivities with food trucks on Friday from 5:30 p.m. onwards.

The church said the festivities would include food trucks open at 5:30 p.m. while screening short animated and feature films from 6 p.m. onwards.

The church also asked the attendees to bring their blankets and lawn chairs for the festive night.

Fun and creative costumes are also encouraged during the event, it added. Interested participants may visit the Morningside Presbyterian Church's Facebook post.

Devotional Sessions

The Morningside Presbyterian Church also held music, games, and devotional sessions in the playground for children, according to its website.

The church bared that every Tuesday night from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. will feature energizers, devotionals, play, and missions for youngsters.

The sessions will take place at Morningside Presbyterian Church's playground, according to the church's website.

After the sessions, the Morningside Presbyterian Church's staff will prepare a picnic meal before pick-up, according to the church's website.

Each session will be tailored to a specific age group, according to the church, so that every Morningside Presbyterian Church child will have the opportunity to participate each month.

Meanwhile, facemasks are optional wearing outside, according to the church.

According to the Morningside Presbyterian Church, if the sessions are moved indoors due to poor weather, the children will be requested to bring a facemask.

The church said preschoolers through second-graders will be scheduled for the seminars on the first Tuesday of each month.

Meanwhile, the church announced that classes for pupils in Grades 2 through 5 will be held every second Tuesday of the month.

The Morningside Presbyterian Church hosted a pleasant stroller walk for toddlers and their parents in Mason Mill Park and the South Peachtree Creek route last Saturday, Sept. 25.

The church said parents were asked to bring snacks and prepared meals for their kids to enjoy after the walk at the playground.

As part of the fight against the coronavirus illness (COVID-19) pandemic, Mason Mill Park said that DeKalb County parks, playgrounds, and trails are open for outdoor use.

The park's website said that anyone who wanted to play or walk in the park might do so freely and take a breath of fresh air.

According to its website, Mason Mill Park is a 120-acre woodland with a network of some of the county's most picturesque hiking and biking paths.

Church's Ways Amid COVID-19 Pandemic

According to the church's website, the Morningside Presbyterian Church has been involved in unique ways during the pandemic.

As it re-emerges, the church's building has reopened to in-person prayer and programming, with ongoing COVID-19 safeguards in place, including wearing masks, according to the statement.

Participants could join worship on Sunday morning by registering for in-person worship on the Morningside Presbyterian Church's homepage or watching a live feed on the church's YouTube account.

The church said the public could view all of the events in the community of faith via weekly emails and the church's events page.
