The Neighborhood Church in Atlanta, Georgia is set to resume its in-person worship services starting Sunday, Feb. 20.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Feb. 16, the Neighborhood Church announced that its in-person worship will come back this week due to the decrease of COVID-19 infections.
According to the church’s post, since the number of COVID-19 infections in Atlanta has dropped dramatically in recent weeks, the church’s board has agreed that they can return to indoor worship together on Sundays at 11 a.m.
The church said the wearing of face masks and social distancing will continue to be necessary
The Neighborhood Church advised those who are sick to stay at home.
It added that if they are unable to attend in person or prefer to worship online for any reason, they will continue to offer online worship.

Church’s Fellowship Discussion
For fellowship discussion, a small gathering of the Neighborhood Church was organized.
It announced a small group gathering on Monday nights to go through The Racial Healing Handbook together, in cooperation with Compassionate Atlanta, in a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 7.
According to the church, the inaugural gathering took place last week, and it was a time of joyful camaraderie and thought-provoking debate.
Those who were unable to join the group were encouraged to pick up a copy of the book, which the church was pleased to discuss with them at any time.
It went on to state that the group should look for more direction and activities that stem from the lessons they've learned and discussed.

Blood Donation Drive
On Wednesday, Feb. 16, the Neighborhood Church's sanctuary hosted a blood donation drive.
The Neighborhood Church announced on Facebook on Friday, Jan. 28, that the Red Cross has been announcing a catastrophic blood shortage across the country for the previous few weeks, the lowest supply in years.
If you are eligible and feel comfortable doing so, sign up for the church's next blood drive, which begins at 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Neighborhood Church.
Due to the large distance between the stations, masks are essential. Wifi is supposed to be available at the Sanctuary, allowing donors to work or browse while donating. Of course, there are complimentary munchies, according to the church.
Black History Month
In honor of Black History Month, the Neighborhood Church in Atlanta, Georgia will share information about Black Atlantans who have led the way in pursuing justice.
The Neighborhood Church said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Feb. 1, that it will present facts about Black History Month each week, featuring Black Atlantans who have led the way in pursuing justice and have made or are continuing to make amazing contributions to society, as well as provide action steps to take throughout the month.
The public is welcome to register for one of the Neighborhood Church's book lectures or discussions focusing on this issue, which is the theme for 2022 Black History Month: Black Health and Wellness.
