The Neighborhood Church in Atlanta, Georgia is set to hold a Maundy Thursday picnic on April 13.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 5, the Neighborhood Church announced that it will hold a Maundy Thursday Picnic on April 13 at 6:30 p.m.

According to the church, Jesus convened with his companions the night before he was executed, shared a special dinner with them, and gave them a new commandment: to love one another.

This evening will be marked with a potluck meal, the church said.

The Neighborhood Church also advised the public to bring something nice to share.

 To commemorate Maundy Thursday, the church said together with the participants, they will eat together, catch up, and express love.

The church said if there will be no weather disturbance, they will hold the event outside, adding that everyone is invited.

It added that everyone is welcome to join in, whether they plan to stay for a while or not.

Worship Services for Easter

Easter worship services will be held both in-person and online at the Neighborhood Church.

On Monday, March 28, the Neighborhood Church announced that on Easter Sunday, April 17, it will have both in-person and online worship services.

Easter is less than a month away, according to the post.

The church expressed its delight at being able to provide both in-person and online worship experiences to assist the public in commemorating this holy and joyful day.

The service will begin at 11 a.m., according to the Neighborhood Church. Easter Sunday, April 17, with a live stream available on Facebook, YouTube, and the church's website.

Everyone is welcome to bring a friend or neighbor to celebrate the resurrection, life, and hope that can be found in connection with one another and with God, according to the church.

International Transgender Day of Visibility

The Neighborhood Church commemorated the International Transgender Day of Visibility to raise awareness of the transgender community's achievements.

On Thursday, March 31, the Neighborhood Church posted on Facebook about the International Transgender Day of Visibility.

The above-mentioned event is a day dedicated to honoring the achievements of transgender and gender-nonconforming people while also raising awareness of the work that remains to be done in order to achieve trans justice (glsen.org).

According to the church's website, on Trans Day of Visibility, the church recognized one of its own who had been welcomed to join them on their journey of discovery.

Pastor Andy Woodworth announced in church this past Sunday that he is a non-binary trans femme.

Andy is a skilled and well-liked community leader, according to the church, who uses they or them pronouns, makes incredibly punny jokes, and utilizes they or them pronouns.

The crowd, led by Andy, thanked God for who he had created them to be.

Those who are eager to let strangers into their lives enjoy conversing, according to the church.
