Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia invited the public to join for a concert season.
In a Facebook post on Friday, Aug. 26, the church said that it encouraged the public for the 2022 to 2023 concert season.
According to the church’s post, they will have an incredible lineup of performances starting with “Kinnara: Path of Miracles” on Sunday, Sept. 18.
Music has the power to profoundly affect the hearts and souls of the people, and Peachtree Road United Methodist Church is proud to present the 2022 to 2023 series of amazing music-making, according to the church's website.
The series is a great approach to improving their life by experiencing the passion and beauty of the live performance, the church said.
The church said it has been given a truly gorgeous space, thus it is only fitting that equally beautiful music be played there.
Within this renowned venue, they have a long history of supporting the arts and promoting musical quality, it added.
The church said it provides an immersive experience for all visitors, allowing the listener and the artist to bond over their common passion for music.
Peachtree Road United Methodist Church said it works hard to expand the community of local and international music fans.
Kinnara: The Path of Miracles
The “Kinnara: The Path of Miracles” will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, at the church sanctuary with a 6:30 p.m. pre-concert lecture with Oliver Brett and Kinnara Concert at 7 p.m., according to the church.
One of the respected "thin places" of the globe, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, is a place of worship where it seems as though the line between earth and heaven dissolves, the church said.
Since the ninth century, pilgrims have traveled a historic path that runs from France through the cathedral shrine in Santiago, Spain, which houses St. James's body, and on to Finisterre, also known as "the end of the world" in Spain's western coast, it added.
Path of Miracles, a cappella masterpiece by British composer Joby Talbot, expresses each pilgrim's experience as it travels between four of the important staging areas along the Camino de Santiago, according to the church.
The church said a mystical and epic work, which alludes to the numerous legends of saints, miracles, and traditions connected with the path, depicts the physical and spiritual development of the traveler.
It added that it conjures up images of pilgrim or martyr shrines, antiquated hospices, the pilgrim's passport, and Finisterre's symbolic clothes burning to represent a rejection of the pilgrim's former life.
Sunday Morning Nursery
The church said its nursery is a safe, nurturing setting where their newborns or toddlers (six weeks to two years old) will be cared for by a team of trained caregivers and Peachtree Road volunteers.
On the first floor of the Children's Building, which is located in the rear of the church grounds, there is daycare available on Sunday mornings from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., according to the church.
The church said parents may spend a little additional time on their first visit learning how to check children in, contact parents, and other important information.
