Ponce Church Atlant will end its Sunday series on Missional Ecclesiology for its Sunday School Session on Feb. 26.

Besides, they mentioned that they started the four-week series on Feb. 5.

Moreover, they posted that they talked about the meaning of making a disciple or the Great Commission on the first week of their Bible Study. Then, church members learned the Salt of the Territory in their second meeting.
Meanwhile, the church posted that they learned to imitate Jesus’ Banquet Ministry on their third meeting. Lastly, the members had the chance to know the meaning of Missional Community or Evangelism as a Team Sport, as mentioned on the website.

In addition, they highlighted that Dr. Michael Rasmussen was their teacher in this valuable Adult Sunday School course. They revealed that he and his wife Renatta came from St. Petersburg, Russia, where he recently taught.

Church’s Role in Mission
According to the Calvary Chapel website, Missional Ecclesiology is a way of understanding the church’s identity, purpose, and role within the “Missio Dei” or God’s mission. They explained that in Ecclesiology, they discuss what the church intends to be and do.
Ecclesiology explains the church’s nature, purpose, hopes, structures, and practices.
The same website revealed that in this study, they tackle how the idea works out practically. They added that they include talks about “foreign missions” and how they suit this understanding.
Moreover, Calvary Chapel noted that in this course, they help learners discover the past nearly two years of the COVID-19 pandemic exposed the ecclesiology and the reason for hope to step forward.
Non-institution
Meanwhile, the PCUSA website pointed out that Missional Ecclesiology emphasized that the church is not a structure or an institution but a community of Believers.
They explained that God called these witnesses for him to equip and send into the world to proclaim and work with the works of Jesus.
More importantly, the website emphasized that Missional Ecclesiology is about knowing that the church does not have missions; God’s mission creates the church. They serve God’s call to mission through its work in three primary aspects.
As further mentioned, these three categories include the proclamation of God’s word, management of the holiness of baptism, and the Lord’s supper. They also said that the nature of the covenant community of disciples is part of the Missional Ecclesiology.
