The Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, is celebrating transgender awareness week.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Nov. 17, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church announced celebrating the transgender awareness week for trans and gender-expansive communities.
The church said it would culminate the "Trans Day of Remembrance" on Saturday, Nov. 20.
According to the post, it is an opportunity to remember those lost to senseless transphobic violence.
The Saint Mark United Methodist underscored that it is proud to promote the Decatur First Christian's "Trans Day of Remembrance" vigil this upcoming Saturday.

The Saint Mark United Methodist said it prayed for the trans community this week and every week.
It added that it would continue our work in creating a society of inclusion, acceptance, and radical love.

LGBTQ+ History Month
Last Saturday, Oct. 2, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church commemorated the opening day of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) History Month.
On the first day of history month, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church shared a heartfelt message for LGBTQ+ community members in a Facebook post on Saturday.
According to the church, this month is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community's accomplishments and strength. It also acts as a countdown celebration for pride celebrations.
The Saint Mark United Methodist Church stated it also celebrates the 30th year of the church's involvement with the pride event by highlighting its history.
The Methodist church has also requested photos, videos, documents, and intriguing anecdotes from previous pride festivals, including Saint Mark's history.

Participants and members were also particularly excited for this month to celebrate the rich history that exists among Saint Mark United Methodist Church members.
Bisexuality+ Visibility Day
Last Thursday, Oct. 23, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church observed Bisexuality+ Visibility Day honor and support the bisexual, pansexual, fluid, and queer communities.
In a separate Facebook post, the church noted that Bisexual Week is a great way to acknowledge and promote awareness of bisexual, pansexual, fluid, and queer people.
Both the straight and gay cultures typically neglect the bisexual+ population, according to the Methodist church.
According to the Saint Mark United Methodist Church, the bisexual community accounts for at least 40% of the LGBTQ+ population. Bisexual persons are noticed, valued, and loved in the church.
The church also assured the bisexual+ community that they are always welcome as vital members of Saint Mark United Methodist Church.
The day has been honored in various countries around the world, according to the Bisexual Visibility Day website.
The Bisexual Visibility Day website stated that it "offers diverse information and festivities on the Bisexual+ Visibility Day event worldwide."
