The Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Atlanta celebrated the formal send-off for Senior Pastor Rev. Dr. Dana Everhart.

In a Facebook post on Friday, June 3, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church announced that it celebrated the outgoing Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Dana Everhart.

According to the church’s post, it will have a reception during normal Sunday school hours at 9:35 a.m. and then give him a formal send-off as senior pastor at the 11 a.m. service.

The church said it would be his last service preaching at Saint Mark United Methodist Church.

The Saint Mark United Methodist Church thanked Dana for his efforts and service.

The church said it hopes that the public will show up and show their appreciation as well.

LGBTQ Pride Month

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) Pride Month was celebrated at Saint Mark United Methodist Church.

The Saint Mark United Methodist Church welcomed the LGBTQ+ community this month in a Facebook post on Thursday, June 2.

According to the church's article, this month and throughout the year, the church continues to welcome LGBTQ+ siblings into the family, raise queer stories of joy and courage, fight for equality for all people, and take stock of how far they've come while looking forward to the work ahead.

The church expressed its delight at being a year-round resource for gay siblings.

Church’s Young Adult Ministry

According to the church, Saint Mark United Methodist Church's young adult ministry gathers on the last Sunday of each month to participate in sporting activities.

On Wednesday, June 1, Saint Mark United Methodist Church posted on Facebook that it had a great time at the Braves game with the Saint Mark Young Adults.

Stand on Issues

According to the Saint Mark United Methodist Church, people should stand up about issues.

On Friday, May 27, Saint Mark United Methodist Church launched a Facebook appeal to the public to contact elected representatives and inform them of their positions.

Many people have experienced sentiments of despair, frustration, and hopelessness as a result of the Uvalde accident, according to the church. They rely on prayer and faith in difficult times, of course. On the other side, the church proclaimed that they must act.

The Saint Mark United Methodist Church has provided a number of ways to contact their officials, as well as an example phone script (inspired by @jamiebgolden's popular post).

The church said that when people exercise their rights and speak up, the world becomes a better place, regardless of their beliefs or ideas.
