Second-Ponce De Leon Baptist Church invited locals in Atlanta, Georgia, to celebrate Advent until the last Sunday of the month, Dec. 25.
The four Sundays preceding Christmas Day are observed in the Christian tradition as Advent— a time used to reenact and prepare for the coming of baby Jesus. The celebration includes traditional themes of hope, peace, joy, and love, central to church life at Second-Ponce, per the church’s announcement page.

Other ways include writing a response to scripture, where members will write prayers in response to Psalm 46, and creating or sharing a care kit containing daily necessities that may be used by locals belonging to the unhoused community, as per the site.
