The Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has asked the public to donate to the church's alternative giving market during the holiday season.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, Dec. 9, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church appealed for help and considered donating to Shallowford's alternative giving market to support its 10 mission partners.

According to the church's post, everyone needs a little hope, and this was a perfect opportunity to help someone during this holiday season.

The church encouraged the public that this Christmas will make a difference at shallowford.org/alternative-giving through Dec. 31.

Christmas Season, Give Hope

According to the Shallowford Presbyterian Church's website, the public can give their friends and family the meaningful gift of a charitable donation made in their name through Shallowford's Alternative Giving Program.

The website shared that alternative presents include:

  • Help our neighbors who are in need of food, shelter, or education.
  • Invest in the ministries of local and international non-profits.
  • Give a thoughtful gift to everyone on their Christmas list.
  • Reduce trash in the environment and clutter in everyone's homes.

They can give an Alternative Gift by using this online platform or by mailing a check or cash to the church (postmarked before Dec. 31). Everyone who participates will be offered a joyful Alternative Gift card and envelope to present to their recipients.

Church's Advent Service

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church conducted a special Advent service on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

On Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m., the church celebrated a time of preparation for the Advent season in the chapel of the church.

The Shallowford Presbyterian women, according to the post, will host a one-of-a-kind service to focus on ordinary people achieving exceptional things together.

According to the church, four female foremothers of Jesus will be honored during the service. There will be a reception in the Great Hall following the service.

Shallowford Presbyterian Church's Worship Service

According to its website, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church is a faith community and congregation dedicated to worship, care, mission, and spiritual growth.

Every Sunday at 8:30 a.m., the church announced, a 30-minute service with scripture, hymns, and a sermon would be held in the chapel. Early risers and those wanting a more intimate worship experience will like this session.

The church will provide several opportunities for people of all ages to learn about, understand, and apply Christianity in their daily lives during worship and Sunday School activities.

Sounds of Christmas Concert

On Sunday, Dec. 12, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, hosted its annual "Sounds of Christmas" event.

Shallowford Presbyterian Church announced in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Dec. 8., the annual concert on Sunday at 4 p.m.

According to the church's website, the free community-based event comprised an instrumental ensemble and the Shallowford united choirs.

The program was offered in both in-person and online forms, according to the church.
