The Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia held online worship amid the rising infections of COVID-19 in the region.

In a Facebook post, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church released guidelines of online worship and outdoor communions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.

The church said it held online worship on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m.

It added that an outdoor communion was also held at 2 p.m.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church encouraged the public to bring their own chair, dress warmly and join for a 20-minute service with a prayer and liturgy.

The church advised the attendees to park in the lower parking lot or around the perimeter of the upper parking lot to get out of their car and join near the portico in the upper parking lot.

Meanwhile, the Presbyterian church also announced that it will hold online worship on Saturday, Jan. 15.

It also said that in-person worship will be held in the sanctuary on Sunday, Jan 23 at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Only 150 participants will be allowed, wearing of masks, and social distancing will be required.

Alternative Giving Market

During the holiday season, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church has urged the public to donate to the church's alternative giving market.

Shallowford Presbyterian Church asked for aid in a Facebook post on Thursday, Dec. 9, and suggested that people consider donating to Shallowford's alternative giving market to support its ten mission partners.

Everyone needs a little hope, according to the church's post, and this was a great opportunity to help someone over the holiday season.

The church invited people to donate to shallowford.org/alternative-giving through Dec. 31 to make a difference this Christmas.

Advent Service

On Tuesday, Nov. 30, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church held a special Advent service.

In the chapel of the church, it celebrated a time of preparation for the Advent season on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m.

According to the post, the Shallowford Presbyterian women held a one-of-a-kind service that will focus on ordinary people doing extraordinary things together.

During the service, four female foremothers of Jesus will be recognized, according to the church. There will be a reception in the Great Hall following the service.

Christmas Concert

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church had its annual "Sounds of Christmas" event on Sunday, Dec. 12.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church announced the annual concert on Sunday at 4 p.m. 

The free community concert featured an instrumental ensemble and the Shallowford united choirs, according to the church's website.
