The Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia is set to hold Easter worship services and church-wide breakfast on Sunday, April 17.

In a Facebook post, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church announced the list of worship services and events on Easter Sunday.

According to the post, the sunrise service will be held at 7 a.m. The church said it is a service held outside to commemorate Christ's victory over death.

During this 30-minute session, bring a blanket or chair to sit on and worship while we watch the sunrise. The service will be canceled in the event of rain, according to the church.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church said a church-wide breakfast is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Great Hall.

The church said the first worship will be held at the chapel which is a 40-minute Easter liturgy to commemorate Christ's resurrection as the savior.

Meanwhile, at 11 a.m., there will be a Lord's Day service. Senior Pastor Reverend Anna George Traynham, leads an hour-long service at the Sanctuary, which includes special music, scripture, and a sermon.

International Rescue Committee

The International Rescue Committee received more than $21,000 from the Shallowford Presbyterian Church.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church honored individuals who support the people of Ukraine in a Facebook post on Friday, April 1.

The #AtlantaisUnitedforUkraine benefit event, according to the church, raised more than $21,000 for the International Rescue Committee.

According to the Shallowford Presbyterian Church, the community is a powerful force that is strengthened when people work together.

Donations are still being accepted online at rescue.org/GiveAtlanta.

Assistance for Ukraine

During the height of the Russian military's offensive in Ukraine, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church hosted a benefit concert for those affected.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 30, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church encouraged the public to attend the "Atlanta is United for Ukraine" benefit performance.

Shallowford used his musical abilities to help the world's neighbors in Ukraine on Tuesday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m., according to the church.

According to the church, the International Rescue Committee (Rescue.org/GiveAtlanta) receives 100% of the earnings. They have the option of making a donation at any time.

Georgia Festival Chorus

On Sunday, March 27, the Georgia Festival Chorus performed a live concert at the Shallowford Presbyterian Church.

According to the Shallowford Presbyterian Church on Facebook, the 100-voice Georgia Festival Chorus performed live in concert on Sunday, March 27 at 7 p.m.

The church said the Georgia Festival Chorus sings a repertoire of classical, modern, spiritual, and traditional sacred choral works for both local and worldwide audiences in live concert presentations and professionally-produced recordings.

The purpose, according to the church, is to introduce new and established audiences to the wonders of music, to connect with them through familiar sounds in the performance, and to create a welcoming environment.

It added that children should be exposed to new and exciting settings while listening to unfamiliar music and that they should be trusted to join in on the musical adventure.
