The Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia held a benefit concert for affected people in Ukraine amid heightened conflict with Russian forces.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 30, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church invited the public to join the “Atlanta is United for Ukraine” benefit concert.

On Tuesday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m., Shallowford used musical talent to aid the worldwide neighbors in Ukraine, according to the church.

The church said the International Rescue Committee (Rescue.org/GiveAtlanta) receives 100% of the revenues. They can make a donation at any time.

The fundraiser event "Atlanta is United for Ukraine" featured musical guests from prestigious organizations such as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Chamber Players, Franklin Pond Chamber Music, Choral Guild of Atlanta, Lakeside High School Music Department, Shallowford Presbyterian Choirs, Atlanta Pipe Band, and Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra.

Georgia Festival Chorus

On Sunday, March 27, the Georgia Festival Chorus performed live in concert at the Shallowford Presbyterian Church.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church announced on Facebook that the 100-voice Georgia Festival Chorus performED live in concert on Sunday, March 27 at 7 p.m.

According to the post, the church's Chancel Choir joined them, with Randy Romig serving as accompanist.

The church stated that admission is free, although donations are accepted.

According to the church's post, the Georgia Festival Chorus caters to both local audiences and the greater worldwide community by singing a repertoire of classical, modern, spiritual, and traditional sacred choral works in live concert presentations and professionally produced recordings.

According to the church, it aims to allow new and existing audiences to experience the wonder of music, welcome them with familiar sounds in the performance, to connect with them, and create a welcoming environment.

It went on to say that kids should be taken to new and interesting places with music they may not have heard before and that they should be trusted to engage in the musical trip.

Growing Ministry

Shallowford Presbyterian Church members have indicated their enthusiasm and needs for this growing ministry.

After Wednesday's Picnic with the Pastors, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church stated on Facebook on Thursday, March 10 that the members' hearts, minds, and bodies were full.

People addressed their hopes and needs for this budding ministry during their time together at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, according to the church.

This ministry is for persons aged 70 and up who are yearning for faith-based connections, according to a Shallowford Presbyterian Church Facebook post.
