The Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia is set to hold the Georgia Festival Chorus live in concert on Sunday, March 27.

In a Facebook post, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church said the 100-voice Georgia Festival Chorus live in concert will be held in the church on Sunday, March 27 at 7 p.m.

The church's Chancel Choir will join them with Randy Romig as accompanist, according to the post.

Admission is free, but donations are accepted, the church said.

Georgia Festival Chorus

By singing a repertoire of classical, contemporary, spiritual, and traditional sacred choral works in live concert presentations and professionally produced recordings, the Georgia Festival Chorus ministers to both local audiences and the larger global community, according to the church’s post.

The church stated that it seeks to invite new and established audiences to experience the wonder of music, to welcome them with familiar sounds in the performance, to connect with them, and create a comfortable environment.

It added that to take them to new and exciting places with music they may not have heard and to trust them to join in the musical journey.

Growing Ministry

Members of the Shallowford Presbyterian Church have expressed their desires and needs for this expanding ministry.

On Thursday, March 10, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church posted on Facebook that the members' hearts, minds, and bodies were full after Wednesday's Picnic with the Pastors.

According to the church, during their time together at Shallowford Presbyterian Church, people discussed their hopes and needs for this developing ministry.

According to a Shallowford Presbyterian Church Facebook post, this ministry is for people aged 70 and up who are looking for faith-based friendships.

Church’s COVID-19 Protocols

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church hosted an online worship service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church restricted online worship and outdoor communions on Facebook.

An online worship service was held on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m., according to the church. At 2 p.m., there was also an outside communion.

The public was invited to bring their own chair, dress warmly, and attend a 20-minute prayer and worship service at the Shallowford Presbyterian Church.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church hosted a memorial service for the church's founding members.

Dr. William "Bill" Jefferson Pendergrast, an original founding member of Shallowford Presbyterian Church, was honored at a memorial service, according to a Shallowford Presbyterian Church post on Monday, March 7.

According to the church, the memorial service began at 2 p.m.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church has asked the public to pray for those affected by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

The church encouraged the public to join in Sunday worship to sing, pray, renew our strength, and recommit themselves to God's peace in a Facebook post on Sunday, March 13.

According to the church's post, images of damage, bloodshed, and terror from the Ukraine situation have weighed heavily on the church's news feeds and people's hearts this week.
