The Shallowford Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia held a memorial service for original charter members of the church.
In a Facebook post on Monday, March 7, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church said Dr. William "Bill" Jefferson Pendergrast, an initial charter member of Shallowford church, was honored in a memorial service.
According to the church, the memorial service was held at 2 p.m.
The Shallowford Presbyterian Church said Rev. Anna George Traynham officiated in the sanctuary.

Dr. William Jefferson Pendergrast Sr.
According to the church’s website, Dr. William Jefferson Pendergrast Sr., M.D., an Atlanta surgeon, died peacefully on Feb. 3, 2022 at Pebblebrook Health Center in Stone Mountain, Georgia, at the age of 102.
Bill was a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Medical Association of Atlanta, the Medical Association of Georgia, the American Medical Association, the American Board of Surgery, and the American Medical Association, the church’s website stated.
The church said he contributed to the medical and surgical literature in a number of ways. Bill and Martha were charter members of Atlanta's Shallowford Presbyterian Church. He was a deacon and an elder in the church and he supported the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina.
Bill and his wife Martha earned the Distinguished Service Award in 2013, and their Concertmaster Chair at Brevard is dedicated after them, according to the church.
The Pendergrast Family Pops performance, which takes place every year on July 4, was established in their honor.
Rev. Anna George Traynham officiated in a memorial ceremony at Shallowford Presbyterian Church on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 2 p.m. H.M.'s arrangements Patterson.
The memorials may be given to the Brevard Music Center, 349 Andante Ln., Brevard, NC 28712 or 2375 Shallowford Rd., Shallowford Presbyterian Church, according to the church.

The Shallowford Presbyterian Church has announced that an Afghan refugee family would be sponsored.
It will help them resettle an Afghan refugee family, according to a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 2.
The Shallowford Presbyterian Church is pleased to announce that it has begun sponsoring an Afghan refugee family and is requesting public assistance.
The church invited the public to give new or gently used things by March 19, 2022, to assist them in building a warm and welcoming home for their family.

Online Worship Service
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shallowford Presbyterian Church had an online worship service.
The Shallowford Presbyterian Church set limits on online worship and outdoor communions on Facebook to assist prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections.
According to the church, an online worship service was held on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 11 a.m. There was also an outside communion at 2 p.m.
The public was invited to bring their own chair, dress warmly, and attend a 20-minute prayer and worship service at the Shallowford Presbyterian Church.
