St. Luke's Episcopal Church conducts month-long and Advent-related events for its members and residents in Atlanta, Georgia. The church will hold its "Lunchtime Live! Concert Series" until Friday, Dec. 16.

The Christian community encouraged the public to join them every Friday during Advent for a short concert and lunch.It hosts Atlanta musicians for a 30-minute show at noon, followed by a boxed lunch, catered by Henri's Bakery, in Budd Hall, as per its announcements page.

The church suggested to contribute $15 for the lunch.

On Dec. 2 and 9, clarinetist Zachary Boeding with pianist Matthew Brown and organist Daniel Cherrix starred in the concerts, respectively.

On Dec. 16, Amethyst Baroque Ensemble will perform live, the page revealed.

Other Advent-related events

Just recently, St. Luke's Episcopal Church held its 47th Annual Messiah Sing-Along featuring members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra led by Clinton Smith, soloists Holly Flack (soprano), Sarah Larsen (mezzo-soprano), Carlos Enrique Santelli (tenor), and Kevin Burdette (bass), as per the events page.

A reception followed the event.

The event's admission fee was only a plastic jar of peanut butter that will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the site reads.

The Choirs of St. Luke's offered Advent Lessons and Carols on Sunday, Nov. 27. It is an annual tradition that features lectors from leadership at St. Luke's and guests from Atlanta non-profit organizations, such as Our House, Hope Atlanta, Gateway Center, and Chris 180, as per the web page.

Music includes anthems and hymns by Philip Ledger, Sally An Morris, Bruce Neswick, Paul Manz, Herbert Howells, and Javier Busto. A reception also followed the service in Budd Hall, the announcements said.

Meanwhile, St. Luke's annual Advent Festival was also held on Nov. 27. Proceeds from the pre-made wreaths benefited the work of our Flower Guild, the events page revealed.

It was an opportunity to contribute to four St. Luke's Community Ministries partners through the Advent Outreach Tree, the site shared.

Its website revealed this year's partner ministries are the Church of the Common Ground, the Ansley School, Crossroads Community Ministries, and the Training and Counseling Center at St. Luke's.
