United Church Center hosted the Encounter God for women’s gatherings from Friday to Sunday, March 3 to 5.
The church's website explained that they believed God would move as they sought his face and stepped into the light with Him. They added that the women gathered to pray, worship, and declare God’s word as they anticipated encountering Him.
Women’s Gathering
United Church Center said they had shared testimonies during the conference kick-off on March 03. Participants also worshipped and listened to God’s word. Then, they had a morning prayer and workout on their second day.
In addition, the women learned about financial literacy and had a beauty workshop in the morning. They enjoyed a curated panel talk exclusively for girls and encountered God at 4 p.m., as noted on the website.
They had a worship gathering in the evening and shared their stories of God’s goodness. The website mentioned that they worship and learn about the Scripture. On the third day of the conference, they ended their Sunday Gathering at United Church, as posted on the website.
Women in Bible
The CBE International website revealed females in the Scripture who encountered Jesus. They highlighted that in the Book of Mark, Jairus’ daughter and the woman with the hemorrhage met Jesus.
As further explained, this book has two miracles with the ladies. They said that Jairus desperately asked Jesus to lay His hands upon the girl to heal her. The Scripture described the girl’s condition as nearly dead.
In addition, they revealed that Jairus is a local synagogue president who pleads with Jesus to heal his daughter.
Moreover, they noted that the unidentified woman was religiously unclean and discouraged but encountered healing through Jesus Christ. They mentioned that she is subject to the blood taboo.
In Leviticus 15:19-30, they noted that there are limitations on menstruating women, and anything or anyone that she touches would be considered unclean or impure.
According to the same website, the woman is downgraded in four aspects. She is a female without a male relative to be her protector. Also, they noted that she needs more financial resources since she spent her money on doctors.
As further stated, due to her gender and the nature of her “unclean” situation, she covertly approached Jesus. They added that she hopes to receive healing from Jesus’clothes without identifying herself.
The woman said to herself that if she touched even his garments, she would be healed. The website revealed the woman and Jesus both perceive some kind of transformation from within without having any conversation.
More importantly, they pointed out that the bleeding immediately stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed.
The website emphasized that Jesus interprets her action as faith, even without direct interaction. She regarded her covert action as a blessing for her peace and proclaimed long-term health instead of suffering.
They stressed that the woman demonstrates the faith response that Jesus looks for people. It is about trusting God that He is working uniquely through Jesus.
