Missio Dei Church will start its New Leader Training on Sunday, Jan. 22.

The church’s Facebook page announced that it would be a three-hour intensive training course for potential new group leaders. They added that they also welcome those interested in becoming a group leader at Missio Dei.

In addition, the church encouraged its members to attend the course to learn about the “DNA” of Missio Groups and it works within the church groups.

Leadership at Missio Dei Church

The church’s website emphasized that Jesus, the great shepherd appoints qualified people to lead His church. They added that these leaders are called elders or commonly known as pastors.

As further explained, the church based its standards for eldership in the Scripture in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. They said that these qualifications include leading their families, which shows how they serve Jesus in the church and daily lives.

In addition, the church stated that a leader should be well-knowledgeable about the Bible and a mature Christian as they walk in their journey. Besides, they said that leaders should have a respectable image in and outside the church.

The website said that elders' primary responsibilities include praying and learning the Scripture. They are also accountable for leading the church’s vision and nurturing the members, as further noted on the website.

According to the website, the elders should also teach and live holy lives to protect the church’s people from false doctrine.

Missio Groups

In another section, Missio Dei Church emphasized that they exist for a community. They explained that no one is born to live alone. They noted that people need places composed of all generations of life and backgrounds to express their stories, eat food, and pray.

As further stated, the church emphasized that people need an environment to learn God’s Word. They added that they needed a space where they could work to value others before themselves.

Moreover, the church admitted that there is no perfect group and every group has distinct characteristics. At Missio Dei Church, they do not expect groups to be perfect and the same because people are messy and even their walk to Jesus, as noted on the website.

Group Leader

According to the same website, the church seeks people with the heart and vision to lead. They said they wanted those who could not control their desire to witness the name of Jesus proclaimed in their city.

More importantly, they want people who want to see Jesus in the hearts of others. The church noted that those with these desires are welcome to begin their Missio Group.

Diverse Groups

They explained that they have a diverse family of disciple-making missionaries at Missio Dei Church. They follow the ways of Jesus together, as added on the website.

In addition, the website said that the church’s core is a church of Groups spread around the city to live on their purpose for God’s glory and the benefit of others.
