Westwood United Methodist Church hosts children ministry's Sunday Funday

Westwood United Methodist Church (UMC) held a weekend program called Sunday Funday on Sunday, Aug. 7.

The church’s Facebook page noted that their children's ministry led the worship and everyone had a great time. They also thank those who participated in the said event for making it a success.

In another post on their Facebook on Aug. 5, Friday, the church noted the children had their presentation and then enjoyed food, games, and a bouncy house.

Involvement of Entire Congregation

According to the church’s belief page, Westwood UMC desires all members of all ages to be part of all their activities. As further noted on the website, these programs involve worshiping, nurturing, and serving.

The same website noted that they envision a church where everyone is given opportunities to “worship, grow, and serve” despite the current situation.

Moreover, Westwood desires to reach young people in the year 2020 intentionally. Its website also stated that the church prioritizes reaching out to its community.

The members of Westwood UMC aim to represent a genuine Christ-like lifestyle.

The church also said they provide a “passionate worship” service. It is where everyone could practice spiritual maturity through Faith Led Development.

Children at Westwood UMC

The church’s children's ministry section stressed that Westwood UMC helps children discover God’s extraordinary story. They could learn how to apply these lessons at home. They could also use it in their school and community.

At Westwood UMC,  their program for kids is an excellent opportunity for children to start their journey in following Jesus. They said that they offer a fun and secure environment designed for kids.

Besides, Westwood UMC planned exciting programs for the children and their entire families, as noted on the website.  The children had their five-day Vacation Bible School (VBS) Kid’s Music Camp from Aug.1, Monday, to Aug. 5, Friday. They performed on Aug. 7, Sunday.

As further posted, the church also hosts outdoor movies this summer.

Westwood UMC Preschool

Westwood UMC also provides services for Preschoolers. The Preschool UMC website said they offer quality and intensive care for kids ages two to five.

Additionally, Westwood UMC Preschool mentioned that they acknowledge the value of “balanced growth.” With this, the Preschool emphasized that they give space for growth in the child’s development.

They deal with the child's mental, physical, and emotional needs.

The same website revealed that the school uses various creative ways to enrich its students' learning. As further explained, they give a hands-on experience to their students.

The school also stressed that children could feel loved in their environment. It is full of stories, songs, and holiday celebrations, as the school stated.

Special programs and trips throughout the school year include the zoo and museum, as posted on the website. They added that students also visit firefighter stations, doctors, and dentists.

The school also highlighted that their teachers are qualified professionals to handle kids. They said that they are having fun working with kids.

The website said that teachers at Preschool UMC are well-trained and certified. The website noted they offer a rich and “varied environment” for the kids’ learning experience.
