The Christ's Church of the Assemblies of God in Houston, Texas, recently held a shoes and backpacks giveaway for the students of the upcoming school year.

According to the Facebook page of Christ's Church of the Assemblies of God, church volunteers came together to give away 200 pairs of shoes and 150 backpacks to students.

For the students, the church has the Warriors of Love or WOL Student ministries for 6th to 12th graders.
During this stage of their lives, the church guides the students to have a relationship with God and their peers. This is also the time to learn all about accountability and how to grow in God.
The church is a member of the Assemblies of God denomination and is led by Ps. Bob and Diane Jones.
Assemblies of God
The Assemblies of God is a denomination that traces its root back to 1914 with the founding convention in Arkansas that has 300 people.
From the humble beginning, the denomination now has more than 3 million members, making up over 13,000 churches in the country.
Beyond that, the church has over 69 million members worldwide, making the AG the biggest Pentecostal denomination in existence.
Today, the denomination's headquarters is in Springfield, Missouri. The AG follows its Four Core Beliefs, which include:
- Salvation
- Baptism in the Holy Spirit
- Divine Healing
- Second Coming of Christ
Apart from this, the denomination has its Statement of Fundamental Truths, a compilation of 16 doctrines established in the early days of the church.
The church has used the doctrines as a guide in the past, present, and future.
Doug Clay
Today, the Assemblies of God are guided by the leadership of General Superintendent Doug Clay.
According to the denomination's page, Clay got elected to the position in 2017.
Prior to that, he worked as the general treasurer for nine years. Also, he worked as the superintendent of the Ohio District and as the pastor of the Calvary Assembly of God in Toledo, among others.
Apart from his work within the denomination, he is also the author of "Ordered Steps" and "Dreaming in 3D."
