The First Colony Church of Christ recently launched its Baby Bottle Boomerang fundraising program.

Baby Bottle Boomerang

As per its official website, the 'Baby Bottle Boomerang' fundraiser is a weekly event every Sunday from April 24 to May 8. It is in support of the Pregnancy Resource Medical Center, an organization that prevents abortion by offering mothers and families information and services.

Those who would like to donate can do so by picking up a baby bottle at church, filling it with coins, and sending it back to the church. People could also directly donate their money to the church online.

First Colony Church of Christ

According to its Facebook page, the First Colony Church of Christ is a church that honors God and leads people to have a growing relationship with the father. It is a church in Sugar Land that started in 1985, and the church puts heavy importance on Jesus Christ.

They believe that Jesus came to the earth as a man and paid for humanity's sins by dying at the cross.

The church is led by Senior Minister and Shepherding Elder Ronnie Norman. Pastor Norman's life is connected directly with the church as he was present in the first worship service of the church held on June 2, 1985.

In a 2002 interview from Chron, the pastor said that the church makes its facility available for the needs of the community.

Pastor Norman said that "we have Boy Scout meetings, Girl Scout meetings, all kinds of community needs are here. We've tried to be a friend to the community."

The church has also partnered over the years with a food pantry and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center to provide the community with the help and spiritual guidance they need.

The pastor said that the church is not trying to compete with other churches and only wishes that the church could do more to help.

Pregnancy Resource Medical Center

Meanwhile, the Pregnancy Resource Medical Center or PRMC is a center dedicated to women who are facing unplanned pregnancies.

According to their page, the Fort Bend organization's purpose is to prevent abortions by offering information and service.

These services will help the mothers and their families choose life for their children while preserving the sexual integrity of the mothers.

They offer their services without cost or judgment. It is also their advocacy to educate the community about abortions and to cultivate a community that supports and understands women undergoing crisis pregnancies.

Among everything else, they are a center that values privacy and promises confidential care for all of its clients.

Abortion in America

According to the Guttmacher Institute, the number of abortions in the United States is undergoing a steady decline from 2011 to 2017. The report said that there was a 19 percent decline from the subject years. However, it also said that the change could have been because of restrictive legislation instead of individual decisions.

Apparently, during the aforementioned years, the 32 states enacted almost 400 new restrictions for abortions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention backs up the data about the decrease as it reported that by 2019, the country's abortions continued to decline to only above 600,000.
