The First United Methodist Church LaPorte is holding a seven weeks empowerment program for women.

He's Where The Joy Is

According to the Eventbrite, the event started at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 13 at the church premises. For seven weeks, the women will learn about loving life and people as much as Jesus Christ loved the church. It added that it is about developing people’s relationship with God and understanding the Holy Trinity.

The program has the teachings of Tara- Leigh Cobble and Krista Strutz leading the women for the seven weeks.

On the page of Tara-Leigh Cobble, it says that ‘He’s Where The joy Is’ is a Bible study book that provides guide questions and discussions for small groups, a personal study segment, audio clips, and a five days a week scripture memory program.

With all this, the attendees can learn more about the doctrines of the faith, explore the Holy trinity and their roles and work, and understand how to apply the truth of the Trinity into their lives.

First United Methodist Church LaPorte

According to the United Methodist Church page, the First United Methodist Church LaPorte is a church that serves the La Porte area. It says that the church is a diverse and loving community that provides various ministries for people to grow in.

The church has Pastor Kevin Gilmore as the leader of the church.

Tara- Leigh Cobble

On her page, it says that Tara-Leigh Cobble is a person who is passionate about teaching people how to read, understand, and love the Word of God. In her page, she says that she started her journey with God in 2008 after she was encouraged by her friend to read the Bible all the way for the first time. She added that this was what introduced her to scripture memory and Bible reading, thigns that she employs today in all of her work.

Today, she is a speaker, writer, and a podcast host that is dedicated to spreading the message of God.

In 2009, she started the Discipleship Group of D-Group with a bunch of college students. This group would blossom into an over 300 group organization all over the world. She is also the host of the daily podcast ‘The Bible Recap’ and the radio show ‘The God Shot.’ 

Apart from all this, she also goes to Israel every year for teaching trips.

United Methodist Church

According to Brittanica, the United Methodist Church is a denomination that officially started in 1968 in Dallas, Texas after the merger of the Methodist Church and the Evangelical United Brethren Church. The article said that in 2018, the church recorded a global membership of 12.5 million. However, the numbers could be lower because of the current diaspora of member churches that the denomination is facing today. The dispute came in the form of the churches beliefs when it comes to homosexuality, same-sex marriage, and other related issues.

It added that the church is episcopally governed and that there are various conferences within the church.
