Lisa Brenninkmeyer of Walking with Purpose recently offered free classes for her "Fearless and Free" Women's Bible study.
Fearless and Free Event
The event includes six different lessons for teaching women how to "waken to the reality of who they are in Christ, and the enemy who seeks to steal your true identity." The Bible study focuses on the Book of Ephesians.
The program will happen from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Mar. 29, Apr. 5, Apr. 12, and Apr. 19 at the Emmaus Spirituality Center.
Fearless and Free by Lisa Brenninkmeyer
According to their website, Fearless and Free is an 11-week Bible study. Brenninkmeyer said that it is the time for people to face their brokenness and need for inner healing and that she is ready to offer her hand on the journey. The Bible study has three parts, Wakening, Wrestling, and Warrior.
As explained, Wakening focuses on finding one's identity in Christ while Wrestling, covered by Ephesians 4:23-24, is where the women are taught how to recognize God's voice. According to Brenninkmeyer, it is where they are strengthened from within.
The Warrior phase is where the women learn about the battle that they are in. According to her, it is a battle for the hearts and freedom. She added that it is where she helps people take back what the enemy has taken from them.
Walking with Purpose
Lisa Brenninkmeyer founded the nonprofit Catholic women's ministry back in 2008. The group had its roots in 2002 when Brenninkmeyer started a weekly Bible study that eventually had 55 members in two years.
Today, Walking with purpose is active in over 460 parishes all over the United States, Canada, and even Europe. The organization helps tens of thousands of women find and deepen their relationship with God every year.
They even have the BLAZE ministry, their tween and teen girls program. The program aims to guide girls regarding questions about value, purpose, and faith. According to their page, it is where they help the children "recognize the difference between the moving, affirming voice of their heavenly Father and the voices that tell them they aren't good enough."
In 2021, they changed the lives of over 38,000 women and girls. They also garnered a total of $419,000 in donations. In the same year, Brenninkmeyer gave 3,900 participants opportunities for encouragement, education, and prayer with her webinars.
The year also had 53 virtual membership events and over 275 online communities for women interested in Bible studies.
The ministry reaches out to adult women, young adult women, and girls. The teachings of the ministry are mainly Church doctrine and the Catechism of the Catholic Church as its additional resource. They have parish programs, small independent groups, and events all throughout the year.
The founder and Chief Purpose Officer, Lisa Brenninkmeyer, holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from St. Olaf College. The founder, who was a convert to Catholicism, found the need for Catholic Bible studies aimed at young mothers.
