The West University Church of Christ partnered with Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center for a blood drive.

According to the church page, the event is set from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25 at the church’s fellowship hall. The announcement said that anyone interested can go to the church foyer to sign up or go to the provided link. The church also called upon the congregation to tell their friends and family about the event.

On the signup page, it says that it is looking for donors of whole blood. As of writing, there are still plenty of slots for people willing to donate.

On its church page, it says that it is a “wonderful, loving and active fellowship of believers with a heart and passion for sharing the love of Christ with our community and the world.”

According to the church, it is a place where people can serve to give glory to God.

The church said that its congregation is made up of people from different walks of life and welcomes more.

As such, the church provides ministries and programs that members of the church can join to grow spiritually.

Every Sunday, the church provides morning worship at 10:30 a.m. and evening worship at 5:30 p.m. It also has a morning coffee Bible study every Tuesday and a night class every Wednesday.

West University Church of Christ started in 1939 at the home of Minister E. C. Coffman. The congregation grew under his leadership, with the church building its own facility in 1950.

Over the years, the church has been integral to bringing people in the area to God. It has provided church care to the likes of The Medical Center, The University of Houston, and Rice University, to name a few.

Leadership of West University Church of Christ

On its church page, it says that Josef Bilnoski is the current Senior Minister of the church who took office in 2021. Prior to his post, he served the Impact Church of Christ. 

He is a Houston native and a graduate of the South Houston Bible Institute.

The church also has Houston native Steven Booker as its Youth Minister and Church Administrator. It also has Ruthanne Neveu as the Children’s Minister.

Apart from them, the church also has a group of Elders and Deacons helping the church in different manners.

Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center

The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is a nonprofit organization and blood bank based in Houston. According to its Facebook page, it needs 1,000 donations per day to help patients in need,

On its page, it says that it is the center’s mission to save and sustain lives through blood supply, biotherapies, and other services. It does this by creating partnerships within the community.

According to the TMC Library, the center works with the Blood Center of East Texas and the Blood Center of Brazos Valley to provide services to over 26 counties and over 170 different institutions.
