Jubilee Church St. Louis anticipates celebrating Easter Sunday gathering on April 9.

The church’s Facebook page noted that they would celebrate the most significant moment in history, Jesus' resurrection. It is also about Jesus’ victory over sin and the grave forever.

Jubilee Church encouraged its members to celebrate with them at one of its four locations. They invite everyone so they advise them to bring their friends.

Risen King's Celebration

The Jubilee Church website explained that what seemed like a defeat and shameful death on a Roman cross became the biggest comeback story in history.

As further mentioned, the stone was rolled away, and the tomb was empty on the third day after Jesus’ burial. The website emphasized Jesus has risen.

Understanding Easter

The Catholic website explained that Easter commemorates Christ’s resurrection from death. It is celebrated on Sunday and ends Holy Week and Lent.

According to them, it is the start of the Easter season of the liturgical year.

Moreover, they noted that based on the gospel, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, which would be Sunday.

In addition, the website said that the resurrection symbolizes the victory of good over evil, sin, and death.

They added that it is a singular moment that proves that those who believe in God and accept Jesus will be raised from the dead.

Easter shows the fulfillment of God’s promises to humans. It is the most significant holiday on the Christian calendar, as mentioned on the website.

Easter Activities

The same website said that the date of Easter could be adjustable and always falls on a Sunday between March 22 and April 25.

In the Roman Catholic Church, they always celebrate Easter on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox. They noted that the majority of Catholics attend the Easter Vigil at midnight. Their services are long because many sacraments are conducted.

Some sacraments are baptism and the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults during the mass. They stated that services during the day on Easter are shorter, and most people attend during their service.

Traditional Family Activities

According to the Catholic website, traditional family activities differ in every region. Kids in the United States hunt for Easter eggs which are often brightly dyed hard-boiled eggs. They said the eggs could be plastic eggs filled with candy or small denominations of money.

As further revealed, candy is a traditional gift for Easter, as kids often break their Lenten fasts with sweets. They added that adults share bouquets and greeting cards and collect them for a family meal.

The website said that Easter often has secular celebrations and focuses on kids and family rather than the religious part of the holy day.

More importantly, they explained that Easter is the primary feast of the ecclesiastical year. Leo said that Easter is the greatest feast. He added that celebrating Christmas is just preparing for Easter. They said that it is the core of the greater part of the ecclesiastical year.
