The Gathering Church will hold the Easter STL at the Stifel Theater on Sunday, April 9.

The church’s Facebook page noted that it would be a family-friendly service. They added that the church would provide childcare for kids from zero to five years old.

Moreover, on its website, the church emphasized that meeting at the Stifel Theater on Easter Sunday is an excellent opportunity to worship at the center of STL and celebrate Easter as one Church.

The Gathering highlights that they would provide a special place for the children at Stifel. They said that some of their volunteers would assist kids from zero to five years old.

In addition, the church would allow children above six years old to attend with their families in the service.

Matt Miofsky, the lead Pastor of The Gathering Church, emphasized in his video on the same website that he looks forward to celebrating Easter as one church.

They would have one collective service at 10:30 a.m.

In addition, he stressed that Easter is a powerful service every year. He added that this service is an excellent time for members to bring their family and friends.

Miofsky revealed that he spent time praying over the venue and that he could not wait to feel his prayer. He encouraged the members to attend their Easter Service.

Holy Week Activities

The church announced that they would hold a Maundy Thursday Experience on April 06 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

As further mentioned, they encourage the congregation to start their journey as they track the footsteps of Jesus in His final days before the crucifixion.

During the Maundy Thursday Experience, they noted that the church would walk them through the event. There would be music, drinks, and appetizers available, as announced on the website.

Moreover, the following day, The Gathering also invites its members to attend the Good Friday Service at McCausland Site.

The church said that this would be a solemn service with songs, scripture, and story and silence.

Lent Devotionals

According to the same website, the church provides devotional resources for the Lenten season. They said that they are walking through the entire Book of John this year.

In another section, the church posted the available Lent Devotional for Day 36, March 29. They based the study on the Scripture of John 16:1-15.

The church’s reflection revealed that when Jesus sat down with his disciples for their last meal together, He tried to prepare them for the things that would happen next.

As further stated, the followers were upset that they would lose Jesus and felt abandoned. Though, the website said that they understood the situation and Jesus comforted them.

Moreover, Jesus explained to His followers about the arrival of the Holy Spirit after his death. The church explained that it came from the Greek word “paraclete,” which means “helper.”

Amy Sanders, one of the writers of the Lent Devotionals, says that she imagined how the disciples felt relief knowing that they would not be left alone.

She added that it is a relief to know that they have God who works all things for their good.
