Fourteen students and leaders of White Flag Church joined the online meeting on Saturday, March 25, about the upcoming mission trip to the Dominican Republic.

The church’s Facebook page noted that six students and leaders came from Greentree Christian Church and would also go on the trip in June through GO Ministries.

Besides, the church announced that the group had a virtual conversation with Randy Caldwell, the Lead Director of Church Planting with GO.

The post mentioned that he explained concerts about the Dominican and how GO teaches people in their country through spots, medical assistance, and home churches.

During the trip, they pointed out the students would have the chance to visit local churches and the LDC Sports Complex. They would also have the opportunity to see the fruit of their efforts, and all focus on the Gospel.

Church's Students

The church’s website highlights that they seek to change students’ lives with Jesus, His words, and the community.

At White Flag Church, they noted that it is a place for students to develop their connection with Jesus and others. They said that they teach the Bible and form small groups.

In addition, the church offers student nights for middle and high school students. As posted on the website, students from grades nine to twelve meet every Tuesday night, while grades six to eight gather every Wednesday night.

About GO Ministries

The GO Ministries website explains that the organization strengthens local leaders to make disciples. They noted that they imitate Jesus as He saves humans and renews communities.

Moreover, they seek to redeem creation through mutual transformation.

In addition, they revealed that Brook Brotzman, GO Ministries CEO, returned to the island after many travels to Haiti, but in June 1991, he went to the Dominican Republic. The website narrated that he met the Gabriel family and witnessed hteir passion for God and ministry.

Brotzman believed that God called him to strengthen local leaders, which was when he established the idea of GO Ministries. They revealed that GO Ministries officially incorporated in 1996 in Illinois.

After three years, it moved its headquarters to Louisville, Kentucky. The organization faced devastation in 2010 when a 7.0 magnitude earthquake affected their brothers in sisters in Haiti 2010.

They said this event empowered their commitment to serving the island of Hispaniola. In 2013, the website highlighted that the organization bought land for the Leadership Development Complex.

More importantly, in 2018, GO Ministries established the Medical Center in the community of Hoya del Caimito, where it started, as revealed on the website.

Mission Trips

GO Missions offered an eight-day trip to the Dominican Republic in another section. The Group trips are available from Tuesday to Tuesday in summer.

Then they can book from Saturday to Saturday in spring, fall, and winter.

During their trip, they mentioned they could experience church planting, where participants could spend time in a community supporting local leaders as they disciple. They could also assist their church in living on missions and training new leaders.

Moreover, the website said participants could join the medical team within three days to assist mobile clinics.

Also, they could work with the Sports team, where they spend the week with local leaders at the Leadership Development Complex or in communities around Santiago.
