Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia hosted a rally day on Sunday, Sept. 11.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Sept. 9, the church said the public was invited to join as they begin the new school year for Sunday school. 

The church said they will get to know the teachers and the newest employees, Courtney and Grace, sing a few songs, and even take part in a scavenger hunt, according to the church. 

Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church said they will have waffles, coffee, and other delectable morning fares to top it all off.

Church’s Worship

According to Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, worship is casual, expressively creative, and thoughtful in its liturgy.

Hymns are normally sung with an organ or piano, albeit occasionally with more contemporary accompaniment, according to the church.

The chancel choir also rehearses every Sunday at 9:45 a.m. and performs an anthem during the Sunday morning service.

Every Wednesday at 6:45 p.m., the handbell choir rehearses and normally performs once a month during the church's Sunday morning services.

The church stated that it would like for the general people to contribute their musical skills to the church.

It also stated that they would use Zoom to stream live for 15 minutes prior to each Sunday's service on Facebook. The church said that they would use this time for discussion in the website comments section.

The church gave assurance to individuals who do not use Facebook, stating that the worship videos would be posted on the page the following week.

While those movies are still accessible on the church's Facebook page, visitors can return to see changes.

Strengthen Faith

Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church values the chance to grow spiritually while fortifying its relationships with one another.

Through Sunday morning programs and other chances that arise, they want to create a safe environment where their faith can be explored, reignited, and developed.

The church said it has received the distinction of a partner in prevention for its efforts to "create an atmosphere that better safeguards children," according to the church's website. All church leaders and volunteers who engage with children are instructed in this program.

According to the church's website, Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church is bound by the guidelines outlined in the Book of Order as a member congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

The church said each of the four teams—Connect, Grow, Serve, and Belong (Vision Support), connected to the mission statement, as well as a fifth team called Stewardship, are co-chaired by a session leader.

It added that deacons of the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church are in charge of the care ministry.

According to the church, they are in charge of enhancing the congregation's ability for pastoral care and reaching out to happy or sorrowful families to provide support.

The church cited meals, rides, cards, visits, and home communion as instances of this.

Baptisms and other unique worship practices were also handled by the deacons, it was stated.
