HBU Ratio Christi recently held a presentation on G. K. Chesterton by Dr. Louis Markos of Houston Baptist University.

According to an Eventbrite announcement, the event happened from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, at the M.D. Anderson Student Center in Houston Christian University. The presentation is about M.D. Anderson, a writer known for his pieces on philosophy in religion. Apart from the presentation, it also featured fellowship, a meal, a giveaway, and a discussion about the presentation.
Further, those who could not come in person also had the opportunity to join in via Facebook Live. HBU Ratio Christ noted that the event was not just for Christians and students of Houston Baptist University.
Dr. Louis Markos, a Professor of English at Houston Baptist University, presented the event.
About Ratio Christi
On the page of Ratio Christi, it says that it is an organization that provides its theological training resources to share the Word of God in colleges and universities worldwide. It says its mission is to provide Christian apologetics and evangelism to bring people together and establish the “voice of Christ” in institutions of higher learning.
The organization’s page says that its beliefs are an affirmation of what it calls “historic Christian faith.”
As for the scriptures, it believes in all the books of the Bible as the inspired word of God. As such, it says it is the final authority regarding Christian faith and life. The organization also believes in God as existent in the persons of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Corey Miller
The organization is led by Corey Miller, Ph.D., as its President and CEO. Doctor Miller is an experienced academic, teaching at Purdue, Indiana University, and Ecola Bible College, among others.
Further, he is the author or co-author of several books such as “Leaving Mormonism: Why Four Scholars Changed their Minds,” “In Search of the Good Life: Through the Eyes of Aristotle, Maimonides, and Aquinas,” and “Engaging with Mormons: Understanding their World, Sharing Good News.”
The doctor holds multiple master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in philosophical theology from the University of Aberdeen.
K. Chesterton
According to Brittanica, Gilbert Keith Chesterton is an English critic known for his voluminous body of work. He is the writer of “Lepanto,” “The Man Who Was Thursday,” and “The Victorian Age in Literature.”
The article said that the writer is a contemporary of H.G. Wells, Bellow, and Max Beerbohm, to name a few.
The author converted to Anglicanism in 1922, which started his works that criticized his former religion, Roman Catholicism.
Louis Markos
Citing thegreatcourses.com, the event post said that Dr. Louis Markos is the Robert H. Ray Chair in Humanities at Houston Baptist University.
