Inspire Church Houston

On the church page, it says that Inspire Church Houston reaches out to the people of Houston to inspire them to discover their gifts so that they can elevate their lives.

As for the beliefs of the church, it says that it believes in God revealed as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The church acknowledges the presence of Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary and died on the cross as atonement for the sins of the world.

Further, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ reportedly allowed humankind to receive grace through faith in Him.

As for the Bible, the church believes that it is inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error. It also considers that no church has any authority to establish any doctrine or practice contrary to the scriptures.

Most church members in the congregation also follow the belief of the “priesthood of the believer” and that all are equal in God when it comes to status and access.

Finally, the church said that it believes in the “literal second coming of Jesus Christ.'

History of Inspire Church

According to Inspire Church, it started in 1950 through the efforts of Bernice and Verbal Bean.

The church said that the Beans received a calling from God to establish a church in East Houston. The church would start meeting at the Woodland Acres Elementary School.

By 1967, Verbal and his wife, Ana, were the pastors of the First Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ on Dewey Street. Unfortunately, Verbal Bean would meet his end from a collision with a drunk driver.

However, the church continued, and in 1988, it had R. A. Heard come in as a pastor.

Under the leadership of Heard, the church experienced massive growth in number and activity. This growth would reach East Africa, with the pastor establishing the East Africa School of Biblical Studies.
