The Second Baptist Church is inviting the church kids to join a secret agent-themed vacation Bible School slated for July.

Second Baptist Church Vacation Bible School

As per its website, the vacation Bible school is set from Monday to Thursday, July 11-14, at all four of the church campuses. The event is free and available for five-year-olds to fifth graders.

The event’s theme is “MISSION 1:9 - Be Strong & Courageous!” It follows “Secret Agent Jack Danger” and his special mission to find his missing sidekick.

The VBS reportedly takes inspiration from how God called upon Joshua for his mission.

For the last day of the VBS, the church will also hold a family event that promises to be full of surprises and excitement.

Those who are looking to register and have questions can contact Tara Schaefer for Woodway Campus, Amber Norwood for the West Campus, Kim Robinson for the North Campus, Brooke Mosby for the South Campus, and Lisa Garvin for the 1463 Campus.

Second Baptist Church

The Second Baptist Church is a church that follows the “Great Commission.”

This belief is described as a passage in the Bible wherein Jesus instructed his disciples to make disciples of all nations. He added that people should be baptized and taught in the Gospel.

The church believes that the Bible is the truth of God’s Word. It is a Christian and evangelical church with the purpose of sharing the word of God.

However, it is a Baptist church that follows essential Baptist beliefs.

These beliefs include the church’s belief in God, the Holy Spirit, salvation, eternal security, and the ordinance of communion, to name a few.

The church’s history started in March 1927 when 121 people left their church home to establish a new congregation.

The church said that even from the start, it was clear that it is invested in changing lives and maintaining n intentional focus on reaching the world for Christ.

A year after its establishment, 12 families of the church provided their homes as collateral for the church to purchase the building of St. Paul’s Methodist Church.

The first sanctuary of the church became its home for over 30 years before moving to the existing main Woodway campus.

In the late 1990s, the church started to expand its reach, planting the first additional campus of the church. Today, Second reaches the people of Kingwood, Pearland, Cypress, and Fulshear.

Community Outreaches

The Second Baptist Church becomes a vital part of any community that it comes to. The church has annual events, programs, and agencies that help out the community with various needs.

The church has ministries for families in need, homeless people, pregnant people, and victims of sex trafficking, to name a few. It also partners with other churches and organizations to better provide services and reach out more.

Apart from the community, the church also has mission trips to other countries. Second Baptist invites people to assist their missionaries by giving them places where they can stay so that the missionaries can continue their work.
