The Fountain of Praise Church recently invited kids and everyone else to its scheduled vacation Bible school.

Spark Studios Vacation Bible School

As per the Eventbrite page, the five-day event is set for Monday to Friday, June 27 to July 1, at the FountainLife Center.

The school is available for everyone, youth through senior adults. It will reportedly feature hot meals, fun classes, crafts, and big laughs.

The Fountain of Praise

The Fountain of Praise is a Christ-centered Bible-based church that believes in “reaching up, reaching in, and reaching out to build the kingdom of God one person at a time.”

The church believes in God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and salvation. It is guided by its vision to commit in:

  • Rejoicing
  • Revitalizing
  • Reinforcing
  • Rebuilding

The church is one of the fastest-growing churches in the country, with currently more than 24,700 members. It started as a small mission church called South Post Oak Baptist Church in 1959.

During the 1970s and 1980s, the church became racially diverse. However, at the same time, the church had a decrease in membership.

In 1991, under the leadership of Dr. Remus E. Wright, the seventh pastor of the church, it saw tremendous growth and development.

The church membership grew to tens of thousands and resulted in the creation of over 100 different ministries and programs to serve the community and the congregation.

By 1998, the church purchased a lot on Hillcroft avenue to provide a bigger sanctuary for the growing congregation.

In 2007, the church purchased the former Mainhill Center, which the church renamed the FountainLife Center.

With the new facility and the ministries, the church entered various partnerships to help out communities by providing resources for healthcare, education, law, finance, and economic development.

Pastor Dr. Remus E. Wright

Dr. Remus E. Wright is the senior pastor of The Fountain of Praise Church, which is considered the reason for its current rise.

According to the church page, the pastor has a tremendous passion for God’s word and a love for God’s people.

He started his work with the ministry in 1983 under the leadership of Bishop Morris E. Golder. In his early years as a worker for God, he became an evangelist and a singer before receiving the pastorate of the South Post Oak Baptist Church.

The pastor is active in local and foreign missions, being an instrumental part of the creation of three churches in Zimbabwe.

He has a Master of Divinity Degree in Biblical Languages from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Religious Studies and Business Marketing from the Martin Center University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Also, he has a Doctorate of Divinity degree from Martin University that he received in May 2015.

He is also a part of the Harvard University Summer Leadership Institute Program for Economic Development as a developer of faith-based community programs.

Dr. Wright has also been a part of the boards of Madison High School Community Relations and the Westland YMCA.

The pastor serves the church with his co-pastor and wife, Dr. Mia k. Wright.
