On Thursday, Dec. 9, Charlamagne Tha God posted a video interview of rapper Travis Scott after the controversial Astroworld concert. He asked questions on Scott's supposed involvement in the tragic incident where 10 people died.
'I'm a Man of God'
Over the past month, known rapper and singer Travis Scott remained silent about his last concert in Houston, Texas. But recently, he accepted an exclusive video interview with the Comedy Central host on his YouTube page, CThaGod.
In his 51-minute interview, Charlemagne asked Travis about concert rumors citing the event as a "satanic ritual." The rapper promptly answered back and denied the allegations, adding, "No, I'm a man of God."
He explained that theories about him as "satanic" are just "things people collect" over the internet. Travis reiterated that the "visuals" of his concert, along with the posters and graphics, were just art.
He added that people are just making up their own interpretation of the concert. For him, the concert was supposed to become a part of joy and life that he wanted to give to his audience.
"This is our third year, you know, so we try to put you know we every year we put everything into the festival so people can enjoy it you know it's not about you just come to perform," Travis further explained.
"At the end of day, like, these fans are your family, so you just feel like you lost -- lost something," he concluded.
What Happened in Astroworld Concert?
On Nov. 5, the controversial Astroworld concert's first day occurred. As reported via ABC News, approximately 50,000 people joined the concert to watch Travis perform, along with guest rapper Drake.
Unfortunately, in a surprising turn of events, the concert crowd surged forward to the stage. There were no official reports on how it first started. But, after the crowd surge, hundreds of the audience trampled against each other, leaving 10 dead people.
When Travis was asked why he did not stop the concert immediately, the rapper said that he did not know about the deaths until after the concert. Travis explained that he had heard some stories but did not know the exact details of what really happened.
He also said that his earpiece would only play his music in the background, so he did not know that people were already screaming for help.
At the end of the interview, Travis noted that he knows he is responsible for the deaths of his fans in the concert.
"I have a responsibility to figure out what happened here. I have a responsibility to figure out the solution," he concluded.
Travis, Drake, Astroworld Lawsuit
Since the concert, Travis and Drake faced several lawsuits citing their involvement in how the event turned out.
Even the concert producers and event management teams, Live Nation Entertainment, ScoreMore Holdings, and the Harris County Sports & Convention Corporation were part of the lawsuits.
As reported via ABC News, Travis denied all the allegations and noted no legal liability for the incident.
