Prayers for St. Louis

Pastor Thorne, through Facebook, recognized that lives were lost and harmed during that day due to the shooting incident. The pastor stated that such violence should not happen to kids and in a learning environment where multiple security staff was placed.

Furthermore, the pastor expressed his feelings towards the incident. He knew some staff working at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School. The pastor feared for their lives.

He reminded the congregation about the recent sermon at the church. He noted that the Lord does not want worship without personal and communal transformation.

According to Pastor Thorne, true worship, as God defines it, is working to set the oppressed free. Furthermore, true worship is creating social and legal reform and making God’s presence known in all times and places.

Pastor Jacob appealed to everyone to join him in praying for the students, staff, and community members of Central Visual and Performing Arts High School.
