Concord Church will commemorate the lives of the victims and first responders of the 9/11 attack. The church invited all to attend its morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11.
2022 marks the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 attack.
9/11 Prayer Service
As shared in its newsletter, Concord Church will hold a prayer service on Sunday, Sept. 11, to remember the 9/11 attack. According to the church, the 9/11 attack is one of the most devastating and impactful events in America’s history.
Concord Church stated the increased appreciation for the first responders of the attack is among its lasting effects. It encouraged everyone to join the 9/11 Prayer Service.
The church will show appreciation for the first responders and a particular time of remembrance and prayer.
Operation Christmas Child, Missions Project Night
As Christmas is approaching, Concord Church began inviting volunteers for its yearly partnership with Operation Christmas Child.
Everyone was asked to consider helping in creating jump ropes for Operation Christmas Child boxes. Skills were not required. According to the announcement, the volunteers’ willingness to help and a smile will go a long way.
It encouraged all to meet in the Atrium immediately after Wednesday, Sept. 7, night dinner. The church provided a link for signing up for dinner.
Concord Church also encouraged its congregation to pick up Operation Christmas Child box items. Moreover, the church reminded everyone that they could drop donations in the Concord Missions Center anytime in the Operation Christmas Child corner.
Grandparents Meeting
According to the church’s website, the next Grandparents Meeting will be on Monday, Sept. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Concord Church in Room 221. Its usual Monday meeting will be moved to such date due to the Labor Day holiday.
The group will watch a video of Dr. Kathy Koh. The video’s topic is No More Perfect Grandkids: Affirm, Correct, and Secure Their Hearts.
Concord Church also reminds all ministry members to register for the upcoming Legacy Grandparenting Summit. It is scheduled for Thursday to Friday, Oct. 20 to 21.

The church walks through its mission of connecting all people to Jesus, so they can grow in their faith and serve others. The Food Pantry at Concord Church is one way the church lives out its mission.
As shared on its website, currently, the church gives food assistance to families in need within its congregation, those in need at nearby Hagemann Elementary School, and others requesting emergency food assistance, depending on the availability of supplies.
Concord Church asks all those needing extra help to contact the church office during work hours from Monday through Friday. The church will set up appointments from 9 a.m. to 4 in the afternoon.
It also provided a list of donations that the Food Pantry needs.
