Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church started its annual Disciples Gathering on Thursday, Oct. 13. The church provided details about it through its newsletter. The church invited all elementary school-aged kids to attend the meeting.
Disciples Gathering happens every second and fourth Tuesday of every month.
It also encouraged parents or guardians to join the Disciples Gathering.
The meeting was held via Zoom and used the "Follow Me" curriculum. As stated in the announcement, this curriculum focuses on Christian practices that everyone can use daily.
Disciples Gathering focused on Peace Making for its first unit. The church guided the kids in exploring questions about peace. Particularly questions about the practices or paths that lead to peace.
Moreover, the gathering also helped young kids discover helpful practices for personal, congregational, society, and around the world that nurture peace.
Faith Des Peres Presbyterian Church helped kids learn the four practices or aspects of peacemaking based on Jesus's teachings in the Gospels.
Furthermore, Disciples Gathering will cover weekly topics such as cultivating inner peace, overcoming fear, sharing resources, and honoring every living thing.
