Multi-Agency Resource Center at Friendly Temple Church

Friendly Temple Church functions as the home of MARC in reaching out to flood victims.

According to a report of KFVS, the center will be serving the St. Louis metro area and East St. Louis beginning Tuesday, Aug. 9, and its operation will run until Thursday, Aug. 11.

SEMA Director Jim Remillard expressed gratitude towards the church for its accommodation. It also thanked Friendly Temple Church for serving as a partner in this great cause of helping flood victims.

Furthermore, he was grateful that the church helped in recruiting more volunteers to assist in the registration.

Friendly Temple will continue to allow utilization of its Dome Theater for those lining up and waiting for their turn.

Meanwhile, KZRG News also reported that Friendly Temple Church hosted MARC a week before. Additionally, the report also shared that a mask is required when coming to seek aid from MARC.

According to the news, MARC is the one-stop center for flood assistance. It has been packed and, in some instances, was overwhelmed with people affected by the flood.

Last Thursday,  Aug. 6, in University City, MARC needed to limit the number of people lining up for it to reach its capacity. Flood victims through MARC can get support from state agencies.

They can also get help from the Red Cross, religious organizations, and other non-profit relief teams.

Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) serves as an avenue where agencies in the community gather to help those devastated by disaster. MARC is described as a One-Stop-Shop for victims of disasters, as they can access various resources and get help in one place.

Furthermore, public and private disaster relief agencies come together to respond to the needs of those affected.

As stated on its website, Friendly Temple Church’s mission is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and to serve by touching and transforming the lives of individuals and communities.

Such a mission is anchored to the message revealed in Luke 4:18-19.

On Aug. 6, Saturday, Family Temple Church, through its Facebook page, announced that it had partnered with City Emergency Management Agency (CEMA), Multiple Agency Resource Center (MARC), and SEMA.

The move was to support survivors of floods in the St. Louis region. According to the announcement, individuals and families can receive referrals, financial aid, and information from local state agencies.

They can also get cleaning and other emergency supplies. Family Temple Church requested volunteers to serve and support these efforts. It asked those interested in volunteering to contact the Admin Office or call the number it provided.
