Hope Church of St. Louis will be holding its next Buddy Break on Feb. 19, 2022, in their Hope Church Chapel from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Buddy Break

According to their official website, the event will take place on the third Saturday of every month in their main chapel in St. Louis.

It is stated on the same website that Buddy Break is a free kids respite program at Hope Church where children with special needs (also known as VIPs) may come to play games, make new friends, create art projects, listen to music, and much more.

On the same site, it is also mentioned that each Buddy Break is centered on a monthly theme that is fresh, intriguing, and fun. Any kid suffering from a physical, cognitive, medical, or hidden handicap, as well as chronic or life-threatening diseases or medically delicate situations, is considered a VIP. Siblings are also welcome to come along and have some fun with them.

Based on the same website, the church coined the term “buddies” are the people who will look after the children while parents are in the respite program. They are Hope Church members and friends who have undergone training in order to spend time with VIPs and their families.

Benefits of Buddy Break

As stated on their official website, this buddy break offers a lot of benefits for children and parents. Some of these benefits include the following:

  • It will allow parents to have some well-earned break for themselves, their spouse, or the other caretakers of the child.
  • Each child will be in a fun and engaging atmosphere that they will surely enjoy.
  • Every child will get the opportunity to mingle and meet new people and create friends as they are being shaped to be loyal followers of Christ.
  • Parents are assured that their child is in a safe and secure place with buddies that will accommodate and take good care of them.

According to the same website, the church knows that taking care of a special-needs kid is a 24-hour job, and it is advisable to take a break. Their team at Hope Church of St. Louis is here to help every parent out there by providing a secure, interesting environment in which they can leave their kid while parents enjoy some well-deserved alone time.
