Kirkwood United Methodist Church hosted the Elizabethan Era Yuletide church on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10.
Madrigal Dinner
Kirkwood United Methodist Church, through its website, provided details about the dinner. It was a recreation of the Elizabethan Era Yuletide feast.
The event was held on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10, at 6:15 p.m.
The Women's Ensemble, Key of Three, Bel Canto, and a cast of other ensemble members of Kirkwood UMC presented the Madrigal Dinner.
It featured pageantry, music, a welcoming wassail toast, and a four-course holiday meal. The Madrigal Dinner provided an opportunity to join the "King and the Royal Court" in the celebration.
Kirkwood UMC sold tickets at $40 per person. The ticket included the chance to attend a pre-dinner party at 5 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres before arriving at the church.
Those who made a reservation were allowed to attend a pre-party at the home of a Kirkwood UMC member near the church.
Feast Menu
The church informed all about the inclusion in the meal, and the guests were served with an appetizer of bread and cheeses.
Moreover, it announced that since the meal is catered, it cannot entertain special dietary requests.

As shared on its website, Longest Night Worship is scheduled for Dec. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The church will hold this unique service for those experiencing loss or grieving during the holiday season.
Kirkwood UMC invited all to this unique worship opportunity in the Sanctuary on what might be the longest night of the year to remember special people during a time when it could be so hard without them.
