Manchester United Methodist Church to hold blood drive with American Red Cross

Manchester United Methodist (UMC) encouraged its congregation and the community to join its blood donation drive in partnership with the American Red Cross.

Blood Drive

Manchester United Methodist Church, through its Blood Drive Ministry Coordinator, announced that its annual blood drive will return on Saturday, Jan. 21. It shared details through its website

The church conducts four blood drives annually in its fellowship hall. It shared that blood donated to St. Louis first meets the needs of its community before being sent to other areas in need. 

Manchester UMC stated that blood drives are a critical and powerful way to make a difference in others’ lives. Additionally, the church provided everyone with three options for setting an appointment. 

They said donors may contact the American Red Cross or make a scheduled appointment online and enter "MUMC." They can also download the Red Cross app.

Furthermore, Manchester United Methodist Church advised all to have the best donation experience, schedule an appointment, and complete the RapidPass health questionnaire online. 

The church stated that RapidPass could help them save time during their next blood or platelet donation.

Volunteers Needed

Manchester United Methodist Church informed all that volunteers are welcome to help with the upcoming 2023 Blood Drives. The church will hold blood drives on Saturdays, Jan. 21, May 20, and Aug. 26, at its Fellowship Hall, 129 Woods Mill Rd, Manchester. 

It provided a link for registration as volunteers for the event.

Manchester United Methodist Church needs volunteers to set up the blood drive, organize the room, and set up signage for the event. 

Volunteers will also be assigned to check in the check-in to register and greet participants. They will also help with the canteen by giving drinks and snacks, and clean up the after the event.
