The Gathering Church of St. Louis will be launching a new prayer series called “Praxis: Deepen your faith” starting on Feb. 9 until March 9.

According to their official website, prayer will be the first in their Praxis series. This session will focus on all of the numerous ways prayer nurtures people’s connection with God and creates a space for God to mold them into the people they are called to be, according to their purpose. 

Based on their website, Praxis is an interactive series that focuses on three areas of leadership development: prayer, Bible study, and Jesus-Centered Leadership. Consider it a combination of a masterclass and hands-on training. 

As mentioned on their site, all Praxis activities are based on abilities to use their intellect, heart, and hands. It will motivate, prepare, and send them out into the world to be the person God has called them to be.

The church believed that Christianity is really more about living a faith-filled life. To call oneself a Christian is to be a faithful follower of the faith. Participants will join in five practices at The Gathering that is anchored in scripture and the early church. 

It is stated on their site that in Praxis, they are invited to purposefully practice their religion with others who have the same faith. They piloted this ministry at The Gathering in 2021, and they are delighted to take it to the next level in 2022. This year, everyone can join a cohort to participate in all three sessions. The Praxis team will provide them with additional content and mentorship on how to use what they have learned in the real world.

It is also stated on their site that Matt Miofsky established The Gathering in 2006 with the idea that the church could be different. Matt, together with a group of mission-minded individuals, had a strong desire to make a difference in our city. This goal continues to grow, bringing new generations of people together to serve and worship Jesus Christ, not just in our community, but throughout the world.

Based on their website, The Gathering has continued to expand at a rapid pace. Multiple locations, various worship services, deliberate online worship, a variety of small groups, a thriving children's ministry, and an active student ministry are all available. The church is excited about the future and hope that everyone will be a part of their expanding community's history and what God is doing through it.
